Pieraccioni and the 20 years of IL CICLONE

In Piazza Santo Spirito on Monday 12 September at 9 pm, popular blockbuster film ‘Il Ciclone’ will turn 20 years old. In Florence, this will be celebrated in the square with a screening of the film together with Leonardo Pieraccioni. The event, which has free admission for all, is promoted by District 1 of the Municipality of Florence with the Bang!

The entire film will be projected on the facade of the Basilica in the presence of the director and protagonist Leonardo Pieraccioni alongside a large portion of the cast: Barbara Enrichi (winner of the David di Donatello with Il Ciclone), Massimo Ceccherini, Sergio Forconi, Bruno Santini, Giuliano Grande and Tosca D’Aquino. Before the start of the screening, in continuity with what was proposed by the Culture Commission last year with the ‘Happy Birthday Amici My’ event, the dialogue between Pieraccioni and Gino will be re-proposed, with the unforgettable voice of the Maestro, Mario Monicelli. For the occasion, part of the special “Il Ciclone… Oggi” created by Bruno Santini and Leonardo Scucchi for the home video market will also be previewed. The artistic direction of the evening was curated by Bang! Cultural Association in collaboration with Matteo Cichero.

The event, presented by Alessandro Masti, historic radio speaker, saw the collaboration of Mediaset RTI, Quelli della company, Fondazione Sistema Toscana, Ecoframes Film & TV, CRAZY BIT SRL and the contribution of the Chianti Wine Consortium, which will offer a toast before the beginning of the screening, of Publiacqua and of the Japanese restaurant Kome. From today until 12 September, Radio Firenze, the official media partner, alongside the communication company Galli Torrini, will animate the Facebook page of the event with the timeless scenes of the film.

“Like last year with the birthday of ‘My friends’, we wanted to give Florentines a unique event, which combines fun, culture and tradition, in one of the most symbolic places of Florence, Santo Spirito,” explains Mirco Rufilli, president of the Q1 Culture Commission and creator of the event alongside Maurizio Sguanci, president of Q1, Matteo Cichero of Ecoframes and Salvatore Pagano of Bang! “The success that is foretelling,” Rufilli continued, “with the numbers we have seen in recent days through social networks (over 8 thousand people who have shown an interest in participating on Facebook), shows how citizens want to be together, to live squares and public spaces, with simplicity and healthy fun.”

In anticipation of a crowded square, the organization invites you to avoid the use of cars or in any case to park at a distance from the square in order to facilitate the access and outflow of the public.

We thank La Compagnia dei Bianchi and the Bianchi di Santo Spirito team of historic Florentine football for their availability and support.
